Dynamics Explorer-2 (DE 2) Langmuir Probes Experiment (LANG) Data This directory gathers data for the LANG insturment that flew on the DE 2 spacecraft which was launched on 3 August 1981 into an elliptical orbit with an altitude range of 300 km to 1000 km and re-entered the atmosphere on 19 February 1983. /Ne_Te_500ms_ascii (NSSDC ID: 81-070B-09F) This data set consists of the highest resolution (0.5 second) data from the DE-2 LANG instrument for the time period from Aug 3, 1981 to Feb 18, 1983. The ASCII version was generated at NSSDC from the originally submitted LANG binary data using the PI-provided software. NSSDC also added orbit parameters and omitted time periods of bad data (see documents (1), (4) and (5) below). The original LANG binary data (81-070B-09D) and the related software and list files (81-070B-09C) are available from NSSDC's offline archive (request@nssdca.gsfc.nasa.gov).
