This data set contains coincidence mode counts and accumulation times, plus "box counts" based on pulse height analysis (PHA), at 15-min resolution. There are 11 coincidence mode counts and 27 "box counts." Taken together, the parameters included allow computation of average counting rates and of fluxes of protons, electrons, helium and CNO nuclei in selected energy windows corresponding to the PHA boxes. There are 12 proton boxes spanning 3-67 MeV, 5 helium boxes spanning 3-67 MeV/n, 5 electron boxes, 2 Z>2 boxes, 1 box each for CNO, Z>5, and E>67 MeV/n.

Hourly count rates from U. Chicago Charged Particle Composition Investigation (CPC) carried on Pioneer 11. There are four rates each, for protons and alpha particles, at 11-20, 20-24, 24-29, 29-67 MeV/n. There are four additional count rates, corresponding to 7-17 MeV electrons, Z>=1 ions with E>67 MeV/n, Z>5 ions with E>67 MeV/n, and 2 x minimizing ionizing particles. The data are ftp-accessible in annual ASCII files and via FTPBrowser. The hourly averages were computed from 15-min data (counts, accumulation times, PHA-based box counts, etc.) that are also available via ftp from nssdcftp.gsfc.nasa.gov.

This data set has eight 6-hour fluxes (3.45-5.15, 30.55-56.47 and 120.7-227.3 MeV protons, 3.44-4.97, 10.03-21.7, 30.67-56.7 and 112.7-413 MeV/n alpha particles, and 2-6 MeV electrons), 28 count rates, and Poisson uncertainties in the fluxes and rates, as determined from the Cosmic Ray Telescope (CRT) on the Pioneer 11 spacecraft. Data are in annual files with consistent end-of-record marks. This data set holds 24-hour-averaged count rates and related parameters for each of 8 sensors or multi-sensor coincidence modes, as obtained from the U.Iowa Geiger Tube Telescope (GTT) experiment flown on Pioneer 11. Data have been corrected for RTG and temperature effects. Single-sensor count rates are from the A (directional fluxes of 0.04-21 MeV electrons and 0.61-80 MeV protons, plus omnidirectional fluxes of .GT.21 MeV electrons and .GT.80 MeV protons), B (directional fluxes of 0.56-21 MeV electrons and 9-80 MeV protons, plus omnidirectional fluxes of .GT.21 MeV electrons and .GT.80 MeV protons), C (omnidirectional fluxes of .GT.21 MeV electrons and .GT.80 MeV protons), D (omnidirectional fluxes of .GT.31 MeV electrons and .GT.80 MeV protons), and G (directional fluxes of 0.61-3.41 MeV protons) Geiger tubes. Coincidence mode rates are given for Geiger tube combinations (A,B), (A,B,C) and (D,E,F). The G and (A,B,C) rates are each given multiple times in the 12 rates of each 24-hr record. Iowa's processing and carried along for posterity. These are described in the document identified in the first "Information URL." The data were provided to NSSDC on a VMS-binary-formatted CD-ROM and were converted to ASCII by GSFC/SPDF in 2010. The data are ftp-accessible in a single 9-MB file and are also accessible with graphical display from an FTPBrowser interface.

This data set consists of hourly resolution data in ASCII format from the Pioneer 11 Plasma Analyzer. It contains five types of data: 'REDR' and EDR data, Spectral' data, 'summary' (high resolution) parameter data, hourly averaged parameter data, and trajectory data. The plasma bulk parameters (bulk velocity, proton number density, proton temperature, and flow angles) were obtained using one of three processing schemes described in the data set documentation. Hourly averaged data files were created by averaging every valid parameter in each hour, regardless of the processing scheme used to derive it. Each plasma data file contains a header followed by data records. The filename format is p10_XX_YYh.asc where XX and YY are the start and end years of data in the file. Each data record contains the spacecraft ID (SCID), year, day of year, and time of day in hours, followed by the bulk velocity, number density, temperature, and where appropriate, the flow angles. Speeds are given in km/s, number densities are given in #/cc, temperatures are given in K, and flow angles are given in degrees. Prior to day Jan. 31, 1989, all directions are given in a spacecraft-centered ecliptic system, in which the E/W angle is positive in the direction of planetary rotation while a N/S angle of zero means that the solar wind flow is parallel to the plane of the ecliptic. After Jan. 31, 1989 the flow directions are given with respect to a RTN heliographic system for which the R component is radially outward from the Sun, T is in the direction of planetary orbital motion around the Sun, and N is orthogonal (RxT) to R and T.

Hourly count rates from UCSD Trapped Radiation Detector (TRD) carried on Pioneer 11. Included are four rates, C1 and C3 from the Cerenkov counter and M1L and M3L from the Minimum Ionizing Particle Counter. C1 corresponds to >480 MeV/n ions (typically 80% protons and 20% Z>1 nuclei). C3 corresponds to >650 MeV/n ions (typically 30% protons and 70% Z>1 nuclei). M1L corresponds to >80 MeV/n ions (typically 90% protons and 10% Z>1 nuclei). M3L corresponds to 80-300 MeV protons (50%) and >80 MeV/n Z>1 nuclei (50%). The data are ftp-accessible in annual ASCII files and via FTPBrowser. The hourly averages were computed at NSSDC from 30-min data still offline (as of Feb. 2009).

This ASCII data set contains 30-min count rates for 21 "pulse-counting" channels from a Cerenkov counter (which measures, via 3 discrimination levels, electrons >6 MeV plus nuclei >480 MeV/n, electrons >9 MeV plus nuclei >550 MeV/n, and electrons >13 MeV plus nuclei >650 MeV/n), an electron scatter detector (nuclei >80 MeV/n and electrons >0.16, >0.255, >0.46 MeV), and a minimizing ionizing particle counter (nuclei >80 MeV and electrons >35 MeV. The data set also contains 30-min averaged currents from the Cerenkov counter and two scintillators, spacecraft position and attitude data, and various other statistical and housekeeping data. The electrometer-based currents data are not reliable. The data are all for mission cruise phases and not planetary encounters.

This Pioneer 11 UV photometer data set contains daily averages of the spin-averaged short and long wavelength channels from April 6, 1973 onward. These data are used to study the interaction of the solar wind with the interstellar medium by measurements of spatial and temporal variations of the intensity of backscattered solar Lyman alpha emission at 1216 A and of the solar Helium line at 584 A.
