STEREO data in COHOWEB come from the magnetometer of the IMPACT package and from the PLASTIC plasma detector. Principal Investigators for these packages are Janet Luhmann (UCB) and Antoinette Galvin (UNH), respectively. Magnetic field data were obtained as 10-min averages from UCLA, courtesy of C.T. Russell. COHOWeb's magnetic field hourly averages were created at GSFC/SPDF by averaging over the six 10-min averages falling within each hour. Hourly plasma parameter data were obtained from UNH via http://fiji.sr.unh.edu/1dmax_ascii/.

STEREO PLASTIC daily suprathermal He+ pickup ion signatures include He+ energy spectra, directional information and contenxt information, such as H+ plasma velocity. The data set provides the relative differential energy flux (J*E) of He+ in 4 ranges of V/Vsw (8.00 to 3.50; 3.50 to 2.50; 2.50 to 1.85; and 1.85 to 1.44). The identification of He+ is based on the measurement of energy per charge (E/q), time-of-flight (TOF), and total energy (SSD) of ions with the PLASTIC sensor. These data include double (E/Q, TOF) and triple coincidences ((E/Q, TOF, SSD) (see e.g. Galvin et al., Space Sci. Rev. 136, p 437-468, 2008). The proton bulk parameters Vsw (km/s), Vtherm (km/s) and Density (Np in 1/cc), also provided in this file, are derived from a 1D Maxwellian fit to a single detector rate (no coincidence required), and are corrected for background and dead time. The software version number used to derive the proton bulk parameters is shown in the file header (c.f. section on File Format). Each stack plot is a one week time series of the solar wind full resolution rate. Each horizontal trace is one minute of data. There are 1440 sweeps per day, and 7 days are shown per stack plot. As the solar wind speed changes, the location of the peak in ESA Step (corresponding to an E/Q setting) changes. Sometimes seen to the right of the prominent proton peak is a smaller profile representing solar wind helium (He+2).

Each stack plot is a one week time series of the solar wind full resolution rate. Each horizontal trace is one minute of data. There are 1440 sweeps per day, and 7 days are shown per stack plot. As the solar wind speed changes, the location of the peak in ESA Step (corresponding to an E/Q setting) changes. Sometimes seen to the right of the prominent proton peak is a smaller profile representing solar wind helium (He+2).

This dataset contains 24 hour duration dynamic spectrogram plots from the combined STEREO A and B Waves instrument. The plots are provided in several file formats (PNG, Postscript and PDF) and there are renditions in color and grayscale with and without additional lines of time series data indicating the instrument operating status. These plots all reside within the same directory structure subdivided by year. The "new" subdirectory contain plots at a higher resolution but currently are not available for dates early in the mission. These data consist of output from the SWAVES HFR and LFR receivers. ? the High Frequency Receivers (HFR) - for spectral analysis and direction finding of radio noise generated from a few solar radii (16 MHz) to about half an Astronomical Unit (125 kHz) ? the Low Frequency Receiver (LFR) - for spectral analysis and direction finding from about half an Astronomical Unit (160 kHz) to one AU (2.5 kHz).
